GREEN LANES
The site marks the junction of Green Lanes and the North Circular, two significant arteries into and around London. To the north is a bus depot, completing the hostile environment in which the site sits islanded from the surrounding neighborhood. Currently the site has a Turkish supermarket operating within a collection of buildings that have been adapted and added to over the years. The only building of note is an old Public House, though only two of the original walls survive. It was a requirement of planning that this building be retained and reinstated.
Our proposal is for a high density mixed-use development comprising of a supermarket and restaurant at ground and first floor and fifty two apartments of varying sizes, located around a protected amenity space at podium level. There are three elements to the residential component - a bar comprising four maisonettes, and two towers of varying height extending out from the podium to mark this significant intersection, and stepping down to the retained building which is to be renovated and reinstated.
